Kępno - a district town in the Wielkopolska province. With a population of about 15,000, it is the southernmost city in the Wielkopolska province. This means that it is closer to other provincial cities, e.g. Wroclaw, Opole than to Poznan.
Not far from the bus stop located on Broniewskiego Street in Kepno is the market square, which is one of the largest in Wielkopolska. The market itself also features a majestic 19th century town hall and a fountain with swans.
On Ratuszowa Street, not far from the town hall itself, is the Kepin Land Museum. There are many exhibits depicting the life and traditions of the region's former inhabitants.
To the west of the market square is St. Martin's Church. It is a Roman Catholic parish church located on Tadeusza Kosciuszko Street. The Neo-Baroque structure designed by Roger Stawinski stood on the site of a former wooden temple.
To the east of the market on Lazienkowa Street is the Synagogue. The abandoned temple was destroyed by German soldiers during the war. In 1973 it succumbed to fire. In 1987-1993 it was renovated. There were plans to place a museum there, which unfortunately failed.
Welcome aboard the buses!
