Myslenice is a small town in Malopolska located on the banks of the Raba River. It is squeezed between three hills: Dalin, Chelm and Uklejna. The city consists of six districts, of which Zarabie is the most significant from a tourist point of view. Interestingly, it is Zarabie that is separated from the rest of the city, and it is there that most of the attractions are located. But in turn.
Myslenice, a city with district rights, first mentioned as early as the thirteenth century, is home to several interesting attractions, although in truth the city serves as a base for trips to the nearby mountains, whether in summer or winter.
During the season, anglers are drawn to the banks of the Raba River, as there is a trout fishery right next to the Lower Weir. As for water attractions, Myslenice also has a small water park called Aquarius. The pool offers access to a sauna, a Jacuzzi and entry to two types of pools: sports and recreational.
The city also has a chairlift, going up Chelm Mountain. The lift is also open during the summer.
Fans of sightseeing will also have no reason to complain. Of course, Myslenice is not Krakow and there are not many monuments, but if you go to Myslenice for a weekend or treat the town as a base for a mountain trip, the number of sights will be sufficient. Taking a bus to Myslenice, it is worth visiting the market square and the "Tereska" fountain. At the market square, at number twenty-seven, there is also the oldest tenement house in the city, dating back to the eighteenth century.
The city also has a temple worth visiting. The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located adjacent to the market square, is a fifteenth-century building originally built in the Gothic style, and later, over the centuries, also enriched with Baroque and Renaissance elements. Hidden inside, among other things, is a painting of Our Lady of Myslenice, which was similarly thought to have belonged to one of the popes.
Despite its small size, Myslenice also has a castle, or rather ruins. The stronghold we mention rose on Uklein Mountain in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. However, for unknown reasons, the fortress was abandoned or destroyed before the 16th century.
In Myslenice, you'll also find a few restaurants worth noting. Several of the sandwiches have a rating of more than 4.5 on Google maps, with a relatively large number of reviews added. So if you're going to Myslenice by bus, for example, for a week-long ski trip, you'll be able to sample the cuisine in various places with peace of mind.
The Myslenice PKS station is located right next to the Dekada shopping center, on Sloneczna Street. It is actually integrated with the shopping facility. The PKS station has as many as eleven departure stands, six of which have separate covered bays equipped with electronic departure boards.
The Myslenice PKS station has a waiting room and a board with the schedule of all buses. The station itself is located right next to the S7 expressway, so there will be no problem getting to the station from outside the city, for example. Of course, most trips are made between Myslenice and Krakow, although buses from Myslenice also go to the farthest places in Europe.
