
Stalowa Wola is located in Subcarpathian Province, not far from Sandomierz and Tarnobrzeg. The San River flows through this city surrounded by the forests of the former Sandomierz Forest. Stalowa Wola is one of the youngest cities in Poland, built as part of the Central Industrial District plan. It has a population of nearly 60,000, ranking third in the province after Rzeszow and Przemyśl in terms of population.
In Stalowa Wola there are many monuments and interesting attractions - from post-industrial, historical, natural and cultural. In Stalowa Wola modernist architecture is very well preserved, here and there you can see elements of art déco. It is a city rich in art and beautiful buildings surrounded by nature - ideal also for lovers of active recreation.
This museum is located in the former Lubomirski Castle from the 18th century and has several thematically diverse exhibitions - related to art, including folk and contemporary art, history or ethnography.
This is the first painting gallery in the country of this one of the leading artists of Young Poland. It is located in the historic building of the former court in Rozwadów - now a district of Stalowa Wola. It was in this area that the painter was born and grew up. The collection contains almost a hundred works by the artist, in addition, you can listen to his memories and see short animations related to him.
There are nearly 800 exhibits related to the industrial heritage of the city. Modernly arranged, multimedia exhibitions bring closer the venture that was the creation of the CID and its flagship investment, Stalowa Wola. Among other things, visitors can dress up as a steelworker, fly a plane thanks to a simulator with VR goggles, change a wheel in a car, or see a marten furnace from the inside.
The city is included on four trails, including the Art Déco Architecture Trail together with Lviv, or the Wooden Architecture Trail, which includes many objects located in the Subcarpathian region, such as unique Orthodox churches, churches, palaces, manor houses and chapels.
Once the main channel of the San River ran in this place, now the place is an ideal place for relaxation, including the active one. The park features a skatepark and pumptrack, a rose garden, numerous ponds and piers.
This is the largest and oldest park in Stalowa Wola. In the 18th century, on its territory the Lubomirski family established a garden in a romantic style. Nowadays, walking through the park, you can only come across, unfortunately, remnants of the family's grand estate.
In between sightseeing, it is worth taking advantage of the wide range of Stalowa Wola restaurants and cafes.
At the first fire - "Art Cafe". This is an atmospheric restaurant specializing in regional cuisine, located in the Lubomirski Palace, right next to the Regional Museum. It's worth eating there, among other things, roast duck goose with porridge, or at least one of several types of dumplings, and tasting regional beers.
Lovers of Italian cuisine will find something delicious in "Trattoria Mala Italia," and for those craving slightly more oriental flavors, the "Thai Cooking" restaurant awaits. However, for coffee and a salty or sweet snack, it is worth going to "Widzimisia" or "KONESSOcafe".
Stalowa Wola is crossed by a national road leading from Sandomierz to Przemysl. The city has a bus station and a train station. From the Stalowa Wola Rozwadów station there are direct trains to Warsaw, Lublin, Wroclaw or Cracow. Also from the bus station you can go to most major cities in Poland.
In addition, Stalowa Wola is called a city of bicycles, as there are many routes and scenic bicycle paths running through it.
