Zamosc is unquestionably one of the most beautiful cities in eastern Poland. Suffice it to say that the Old Town buildings in Zamosc have been recognized as one of the 7 Wonders of Poland and are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is no wonder that every year real crowds flock here wanting to discover what Zamosc tourist attractions have prepared for their guests. And there is plenty to choose from!
The main square of the city, and the place where every tourist must go, is the Rynek Wielki. Its nickname is no coincidence: the square's dimensions of 100 x 100 m make it one of the largest markets in Europe. The market is bustling all year round, and in the summer season it practically stays awake! It houses many restaurants, cafes and pubs. A landmark in the Grand Market is the City Hall with its pink facade. It was built between 1639 and 1651 and is considered a masterpiece of Mannerist-Baroque architecture. Characteristic features of the building are the sweeping staircase and centrally located clock tower. Another landmark of the Market Square are the Armenian townhouses - with ornate facades in distinctive colors, located to the right of the City Hall.
Much smaller in size is the Water Market, which features an illuminated fountain.
At the Grand Market Square, in the Armenian townhouses, is the Zamojskie Museum, where one can admire exhibits related to the region's history and ethnographic legacy. Other museum facilities in Zamosc include: The Arsenal Museum of Fortifications and Weapons and the Multimedia Museum of the History of the Jews of Zamosc and the Surrounding Area. Zamosc also boasts impressive churches, including the Cathedral of the Resurrection and St. Thomas the Apostle, the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation and a synagogue open to the public. The cathedral is considered one of the most impressive Renaissance churches in Poland. It was built in 1587-1600 as a votive offering of thanks for the military successes of Hetman Jan Zamoyski.
A visit to Zamosc is not complete without several points of interest that are pearls of Zamosc. These include: Bastion VII (with an underground tourist route - a treat for fans of the art of war), the city park incorporated into the remains of the fortification buildings, Marek Grechuta's house, the Alley of Fame, the Old Lviv Gate and the Bridge of Lovers.
Zamosc owes much to the Zamoyski family, and one of the key figures in the city's history was Hetman Jan Zamoyski - the founder of Zamosc. Souvenirs related to the Zamoyski family can be found in many places here. It was the city's founder who commissioned Italian architect Bernardo Morando to design the harmonious layout of the city. The Italian also designed the Zamosc Cathedral.

Long-distance buses and buses serving local connections start from here. You can check the Zamosc bus schedule directly at the station building or on the Internet. An alternative to bus travel are PKP connections.
