Alytus

Alytus is a charming city located in southern Lithuania, on the Nemunas River. It is the capital of the district of the same name and one of the most important administrative, cultural and industrial centers of the region.

The history of Alytus dates back to the 15th century, when the settlement was first mentioned. In later centuries the city was an important trading and military point. Today Alytus is known for its green spaces, developed industry and friendly atmosphere.

One of the city's symbols is the White Bridge, a beautiful structure over the Nemunas River that offers picturesque views. Alytus also has numerous parks, bicycle trails and recreational areas, making it often referred to as a "green city".
