Visit the city of Goteborg by bus Sindbad
Goteborg is the second largest city in Sweden and also the largest seaport in all of Scandinavia. It was founded in the early 17th century at the behest of King Gustav II Adolphus by Dutch architects, with the main intention of making Sweden independent of the customs duties levied by Denmark in the Danish Straits. In the nineteenth century, due to strongly developing trade, it turned into an industrial city, remaining to this day a strongly developed and internationally important city. Our coaches make a stop at the Opera House building - Christina Nilssons Gata, which is one of the first attractions worthy of any tourist's attention. The building was designed by renowned architect Jan Izikowitz, and the work was completed in 1994. About 500 employees work in the opera house's more than 1,000 rooms, and up to 250,000 visitors a year attend organized performances. Another interesting point on the map of the city is the fountain depicting the statue of Poseidon, which is also a symbol of Goteborg. On the other hand, the oldest secular building in the city is Kronhuset, the former city arsenal. In the 17th century it was the seat of the parliament, and today it houses small craft manufactories where you can buy silver, gold or glass products. Goteborg is also a city that brings together a number of museums including the Museum of Art, Natural History and the Maritiman Museum. The latter is quite an attraction, as it is the world's largest drifting museum. Tourists travel on the decks of twenty vessels, which are connected to each other by a special footbridge system. The collection includes fishing boats, sailing boats or war craft like the historic destroyer Smaland, which sailed Swedish waters in the still 20th century, and the submarine Nordkaparen.
