Heilbronn is a city located in southwestern Germany in Baden-Württemberg on the Neckar River. It is inhabited by more than 120,000 people. It is a multicultural, quite diverse and full of interesting attractions located among the grape-covered hills.

Heilbronn was first mentioned in 747. It was granted city rights in 1298. Many of Heilbronn's old monuments did not survive the air raids of World War II, but some of the buildings have been rebuilt and restored to best reflect their former appearance.

Today Heilbronn boasts beautiful architecture and a multitude of green spaces. There are also interesting interactive museums here. So what is worth seeing in Heilbronn in the first place?

Heilbronn City Hall

The original town hall was built in 1417 in the Gothic style, later rebuilt in the Renaissance style. After World War II, the building required reconstruction, which was carried out between 1950 and 1953. It is distinguished by an ornate 16th-century astronomical clock with beautiful paintings of the signs of the zodiac.

Kilianskirche

This Gothic church dates back to the 13th century. Despite extensive damage from World War II, it has managed to preserve several valuable elements from the Middle Ages, including a late Gothic carved altarpiece by Hans Seyfer from 1498 and several 15th-century stained glass windows. From the church's high tower you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

Experimenta - Das Science Center

This futuristic, partially glazed building houses a science center where both children and adults will find themselves. Here you can witness interesting demonstrations, participate in experiments or watch interactive exhibitions that combine science with fun.

Heilbronn Railway Museum

The Süddeutsches Eisenbahnmuseum in Heilbronn has been operating since 1998. It collects historic locomotives and railcars, including the former car of Prince Wilhelm of Prussia.

Botanischen Obstgarten Heilbronn

This botanical garden was established in 1850. It features many species of woods, ornamental shrubs, perennials and flowers. You'll also find numerous gazebos, small Art Nouveau buildings, pavilions, as well as a café and a small flower shop, and occasionally come across a handicraft market.

Trappen Lake Castle

This mid-16th century palace is located on a small island on Lake Trappen. For centuries it was the home of various wealthy families, and since the late 1970s the chateau has become the property of the city. It was first an auction house, and is now a cultural center promoting reading.

Pfühlpark

Surrounding the castle on the Trapensee River is a park of more than 15 hectares. It is divided into two zones - one with cross-country skiing trails and playgrounds, and another quieter one with a lake surrounded by numerous willows.

Wartberg Hill

From this hill, located somewhat on the outskirts of the city and measuring a little over 300 meters, one can enjoy beautiful views of the city, as well as relax in the natural surroundings and stroll along paths around the vineyards. In addition to the observation tower, it also houses a restaurant.
