
Krosno Odrzańskie is a small (11,000 inhabitants) city in western Poland. It is located in the Lubuskie province. It is separated from the capital Zielona Góra by a distance of less than 40 km. A similar distance has to be overcome to get to Gubin, the Polish-German border. Situated on the second longest river in Poland, the city boasts a picturesque location and centuries-old tradition. The first written mention in historical chronicles of Krosno dates back to 1005. More than ten centuries of history have not been kind to Krosno Odrzanskie.
