Limanowa - tourist attractions and sights of the city. What is worth seeing?

Limanowa is located in Beskid Wyspowy, west of Nowy Sacz, in a mountainous basin , on the Sowlinka stream. The town is located at an altitude of about 400 to 700 meters above sea level.

This small but charming town is often visited by tourists, and is chosen as a destination by families with children, given the mountain trails with a degree of difficulty suitable for children.

On the northern side we have the mountainous Losinski Range, and on the southern side we have the Lipowe Hill. There is a beautiful view from Town Mountain, where the narrowest metal cross stands.

On the northern slope of Lysá hora there is the "Limanowa-Ski" ski station. You can use and ride a four-person chairlift and, during winter madness, two ski lifts. The ski trails are equipped with a snowmaking system as well as lighting.

Limanowa is also sacral culture, beautiful historic churches and chapels of incredible historical and artistic value. In the center of Limanowa is the Basilica - Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows with a 60-meter tower. It is a monument to the 200th anniversary of the 3rd of May Constitution. The interior of the church is particularly noteworthy for the Pieta statue called Our Lady of Limanova from the 14th century.

The church is richly decorated, its interior is stunning.

On Marka Street is located the historic Limanowa brewery, and behind them is the Mars Manor House, which houses the Limanowa Land Museum.

However, the biggest advantage of the town is its location, beautiful landscape a number of hiking trails of varying difficulty for both hikers and those moving by bicycle.

Lysa Gora (781 meters above sea level) should be mentioned here. The peak is located in the southern part of the Losinski Range between Limanowa and Mordarka. The summit is entirely covered with trees, so there is no extensive view of the surrounding area.

Below, on the southeastern shoulder of Lysa Gora is the Old Cross. The first cross, dated 1899, was of wooden construction. In the 1960s a new concrete one was built, 15 meters high.

Near it is the aforementioned ski station with a chairlift.
