On the other, southern side of the Seine, other gems await. On the banks of the river is the Museum d'Orsay - where you will find works of art by the most famous Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. It is also home to one of the most recognizable monuments in Paris - the Eiffel Tower, also known as the Iron Lady. At the time of its construction in the late 19th century, it was the tallest building in the world. Today, although it has long been dethroned in this category, it is still impressive and attracts crowds of tourists. On this part of the river is also the Latin Quarter, where we can admire the academic buildings of the Sorbonne, the Pantheon or the St. Michael fountain. Between the Latin Quarter and the Eiffel Tower is the Palace of the Invalides, where Napoleon's sarcophagus is laid to rest. The body of Marshal Foch and other French commanders also rests here.

In the northern part of Paris, one of the key attractions is the Montmartre hill, where the Sacré-Cœur basilica was erected. It offers a magnificent panorama of the city.
