Sanok- one of the most southeastern cities in Poland. Sanok is a district city and is located in Podkarpackie Voivodeship. This small city has a population of about 37,000.
Who among us does not remember buses of the Autosan brand? Many of you probably know that it was in Sanok that these distinctive buses, seen on Polish roads, were manufactured. The origins of the company date back to 1832 ( yes, yes it's not a mistake 😊), originally it was a craftsman's factory producing boilers, utility tools. In a later phase, it began producing tools for the oil industry, mining and brewing. Later, among other things, wagons were produced, but most of us associate the company with bus production. Production began in the 1960s, and by the 1970s the factory employed more than 7,000 people, with up to 4,000 buses produced annually. The factory, although in an altered form and after transformations, produces buses to this day.
For tourists visiting Sanok, we recommend the Gothic castle, rebuilt at a later stage as a Renaissance castle. The aforementioned castle houses the Historical Museum, with an exhibition of works by the famous Zdzislaw Beksinski.
We also recommend the Building of the so-called Inn, where the Directorate of the Historical Museum in Sanok is based, and we recommend visiting the Arch-Cathedral Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Very charming is the Town Hall - a beautiful building in the town square, dating back to the 18th century.
