Basel is Switzerland's third-largest city and the only one with a port - a river port, of course. It is located on the Swiss border with Germany and France on the Rhine River. Also noteworthy is the Museum of Art, one of the most important cultural institutions in the country, full of famous works of art from the 15th century to the present day.

Getting to Basel

You can get to Basel by plane, flying to France's Saint-Louis airport, from which you take a city bus to Switzerland.
