Khust is a district town in Ukraine, in the Transcarpathian region, located at the mouth of the Rika River to the Tisza River, in the Marmara Basin.
The first written mention of Khust dates back to 1329, when the town was granted privileges. In 1353 Chust was the seat of a castellan. In 1526, the city was included within the borders of the Transylvanian Principality, but was captured by the troops of Emperor Ferdinand I as early as 1546.
