Oleśnica is a small town of about 35,000 people in Lower Silesia, located near Wroclaw. The Oleśnica River flows through it. It is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Poland that once served as a synagogue - it was built at the end of the 14th century. Olesnica's medieval town gate and defensive walls are also a major attraction. The city has an impressive recreational complex, ATOL, which includes an aquapark, climbing wall, tennis, squash and miniature golf courts.
