Opoczno is a county town located in central Poland, in the southeastern part of Lodz province, on the Drzewiczka River, a right tributary of the Pilica River. Geographically, it lies in the transition zone between the ranges of the Swietokrzyskie Mountains and the Mazovian Lowland, in the area of the Opoczno Hills.
