Pyskowice is a small town near Gliwice in the Silesian province. It is inhabited by a population of about 16,000 people. The most important monuments are located within the old town, which has preserved its former medieval urban layout to this day. While in the market square, it is worth noting not only the building of the town hall, but also the 18th and 19th century houses surrounding the main town square. There is also a Marian column from 1809 and a fountain from the first half of the 20th century. Pyskowice lies on the route of national and provincial roads. The A1 and A4 highways run nearby. From the Pyskowice train station one can most often get to Gliwice or Opole, but also to more distant cities, including Wroclaw, Krakow or Sopot.
