FREIBURG IM BREISGAU
Freiburg, or Freiburg in Polish, is a city in southwestern Germany near the border with France and Switzerland. It is located in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Its full name is Freiburg im Breisgau - which has to do with its location in the historic Bryzgau region. It is inhabited by more than 230,000 residents. It is a city with a long history, dating back to the Middle Ages.
The most noteworthy sight there is the Gothic-Romanesque Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located in the very center of the city on Münsterplatz. Its tower is 166 meters high and leads in many rankings as one of the most beautiful in the world. Attention is also drawn to the richly decorated entrance to the temple, and inside the medieval chancel, colorful stained glass windows and numerous sculptures.
